DAY 6..

I would first like to begin this post by saying how much I love my camera. I bought a Canon SD990 about a month prior to this trip, and it is an amazing camera. It has image stabilization built in, and it even takes sharp pictures at night, handheld. All the pictures on this blog were snapped with this camera..

We woke up and ate an early udon lunch (11AM). Afterwards, we walked to the Osaka Castle to check it out. It cost 600 Yen to enter the castle. From what I heard, the original castle was destroyed, and this current castle was rebuilt in the 1960's. After the castle, there were no plans, so Mallen, Joe and I decided to do some shop visits. We decided to go to Trial and Up Garage, as they were located right across from each other. Along the 39 minute walk to Trial, we spotted a GTR and R34 parked outside a shop. We then heard the loud roar of a dyno. We realized we found Auto Select, which is another tuner shop. The guys there were pretty rude, as they didn't acknowledge us, so we snapped a few pictures of their cars and carried on. When we finally found Trial, we were disappointed to see that hey were closed. Bummer. Fortunately Up Garage was open, so I bought a pair of 5mm CNC'd wheel spacers. We then walked the 39 minute walk back to the train station, then met up the rest of the group at Dotonbori. The walkie talkies worked great, and we found them right away. We then ate all you can eat sushi boat, until we felt like throwing up. Enjoy the pictures..

Udon..

The gaijin's fork. Seems like most places only have little kid forks..

The Osaka Castle's moat..

Paradise Bridge..

Osaka Castle..

The war of Osaka figurines..

Golden dragon on the roof of the Osaka Castle.

Japanese Garden nearby..

Temple nearby..

The Nishinomaru Garden..

Entrance into the garden was 200 Yen. Good thing we didn't pay that, because look how dead the garden is inside. It was a bunch of dead trees and dirt..

Clean EF on our walk to Trial..

Auto Select..

Their Demo R34 tucked behind the screens..

An employee's R34..

An employee's GTR..

The JUN STI in their showroom..

Trial. The one stop shop for body work, paint, parts, installs, tuning, etc. They do everything there, in house. Their facility was huge, and they had a ton of garages. It was a disappointment that they were closed..

Some of the cars in their parking lot..

Up Garage..

Took a picture for my buddy Allen Chu..

Dotonbori..

A shop that serves Fugu (Poisonous Puffer fish). I still want to try it, but the dishes were in the range of 6000 Yen and up..

So we ended up at an all you can eat sushi boat, which cost 1700 yen..

This was my pile before they cleared it. In total, I ate about 21 trays. I was STUFFED..
